Just checking, are you using the normal qTranslate plugin? Because that one appears to have a lot of issues.
What version of WordPress and qTranslate are you using?

I think, I use the normal qTranslate plugin. If it has so many issues it might pay to look for another another one? So far I was quite happy with it…

I just did a test with qTranslate and unless I’m doing something wrong, nothing happens when I switch language. It’s not even updating normal WP fields. Also got this big warning in my screen: “The qTranslate Editor has disabled itself because it hasn’t been tested with your WordPress version yet.” and the plugin hasn’t been updated in 9(!!) months.
If you want to use Related Posts for WordPress, and the latest WP version and probably a lot of other plugins, I recommend you try a different multi-language plugin.
