Multi site – Individual blogs

    Dear way smarter people than me:).

    I have a question and i’m thinking multi-site would be perfect.

    I want to create a website where people can join, and start their own blog. I want to make one predefined template. Not to special. I want to install a frontend blog submission, so people don’t have to know anything about wordpress. I’ve allready installed join my multisite (and did some css to let it look nice). I’m making on the head site of the multisite example: http://www.multisiteblog.com 1 template as a example. If somebody signs up, he can choose to have dylan.multisiteblog.com.

    No my question, is their a way to copy automatic my example site to the new subdomain, so people have the structure and the blog all ready. And can start uploading their blogs.

    Is their a way to make for example (with a plugin) some really small customize area. For example. To change the header, some about tekst en maybe their personal photo?

    I have no clue how I can start, so everything is welcome.

    Hope somebody has experience and likes to help me:)

    You can take the theme you have now, and create a child theme, and then make that the only theme available to other users. That would force them to use the theme you want them to use.

    Admins of each site have the ability to change the header image, and text via the Appearance menu in the Dashboard.

    Thank you very much, that a really good idea.

    I know every admin can change its header, but isn’t there a way they don’t have to go into the backend.

    I want to give them. One template, with one page. So there are only change for example: the header, their personal text. And the rest are blogs.

    So people with no wordpress experience can easily have their blog? Hope you understand my question.
