Multi Site or 2 Installations? | ww.wp.xz.cn

I have just acquired a client who has a .aspx website and also a WP blog installed in a separate blog directory.

I’ve been asked to put the old site into a WP format and also keep the existing blog. I already made the WP version of the site before I found out about the existing blog.

What is my best option? Is it as easy as having a second WP installation in the blog directory as well as my www directory? or should/can I use Multisite? Thanks.

I wouldn’t do either, too be honest. Multisite is a bit much for two sites, but you also shouldn’t have two separate WordPress installations at only the subdirectory level.

Why not just have this all in one site where the blog content is just a separate page?

I’m not too sure on how to go about importing the existing blog content into my new WP website, but I am sure I can find out.

You can export from Tools -> Export in the old blog’s Dashboard, then import via Tools -> Import in the new blog’s Dashboard. 🙂
