    Hi there I am trying to define EAN barcodes for products in a bilingual woocommerce site.

    I can add the EAN barcode in the main language but it doesn’t work for the secondary language. I am using WPML for translations.

    Is there some part of the plugins code I could translate to make it work?

    Hi, @gorfeas,

    Here is what you need to do:

    1. Go to “WPML > Settings”.
    2. Locate the “Custom Fields Translation” section.
    3. Click “Show system fields”.
    4. Search for the _alg_ean field.
    5. Set it to “Copy”.

    I think this option will not copy the field for your old products, so you need to “Update” your existing products for EAN to be copied.

    Unfortuantely it does not work. I have changed the setting as per your suggestion, saved the settings and updated a product but the EAN still won’t display for the secondary language.

    The only way it worked was to enable the wordpress editor translation mode for an specific product and manually enter an EAN code. It did not copy the value.

    Well I just updated to the latest version that got out today, followed the above steps + changed user language to English, instead of Greek and BOOM! it works now. After I update a product, the EAN barcode number is visible when switching to secondary language. Thank you for your time and effort!
