As seen in this video https://www.loom.com/share/89a5d23108b742da9ddcdf0029907b5b, I am getting dozens of failed login attempts to my admin account. I think I have narrowed it down to the Malcare plugin. Could the Malcare site be instructing the plugin to attempt to log in? I recall providing the credentials to Malcare when the initial trial period started. If so, how can this be resolved? Thank you.

    Hey Chris!

    Thank you for your message.

We checked the video & these requests are not coming from us. We don’t make wp-admin login requests since our plugin is set up on the site. Also, we don’t store wp-admin credentials with us after the plugin setup is done on the website.

127.0.0.1 means that the requests are coming from within WordPress. There is a function or plugin that is making these requests but I can assure you that it’s not MalCare.

I hope that answers your query.

    Regards,
    Aman Kedia

@amanbv I am now understanding that a Malcare bug is unable to correctly identify the IP of the visitor on the site.
So these requests may in fact be coming from somewhere else. Am I correct in this understanding?
