Multiple items with multiple options

Let’s say I am selling widgets

You can order widgets in quantity of 3, 6, 9 or 12
You can get widgets in blue, green, yellow, or red

What I am trying to do is give the option to choose a quantity of widgets then choose a selection of colors based on the quantity

So if the customer wants 3 widgets they can select red, blue and green
if the customer wants 6 widgets they can select red, blue, yellow, green, green, green

What I am able to do is give them 12 color choices no matter how many widgets they want
they order 3 widgets they get the drop down boxes for up to 12 choices of color.. I would like to limit drop down to the number of widgets they order only

Is this possible?
