I think I had read in another post that multiple jobs types are not supported. I was just wondering if there were any plans to support this. It would be really useful if it showed all of the selected types, or if it showed child types as well.

Or if it would be possible to allow us to select which job type out of the ones selected would show on the listing, that would be really helpful. As I understand it, for the job to be shown with the checkboxes under the search, it has to have the selected job type. So say I have a job posting for a part time position, with flexible hours. So I would add both of those as job types, with the flexible hours maybe even as a child type. That way they can select either part time or flexible hours on the checkboxes and it will show. However, for the type on the listings page, it’s always going to show Flexible Hours because it seems to go by alphabetical order.

Is there any way around this?

‘flexible hours’ isn’t a job type. Could you perhaps use categories for things like that? You could have a full time, part time, or internship with flexible hours.

Yeah, I had added Flexible Hours as a job type (that I’ve since removed) to see if we could have both show on the listing but I’m not sure it’s possible that way.

What do you mean by categories?

In settings you can enable ‘job categories’. This adds a dropdown filter to the jobs shortcode, and each listing can be given multiple categories.

Ooooh I see now. I suppose that works, but it kind of looks backwards then, and if they don’t know it’s there people still wouldn’t be able to see that it is flexible hours.

Either way, I think I can use the categories for actual categories, so it’s good to know that’s there!

That would allow something to filter by ‘flexible’ (category) and multiple job types at once 😉

If Job Type is set up just to allow one option displayed would it be possible to set it on the admin side to only allow one selection as well?

danskkr yeah the plan is to swap to a dropdown.

Does not work for me. Because I use categories for job branches, as most users will do. Is there a way to alter the output when multiple job types are selected?
