Multiple languages website

I am working on a website which will eventually run on 3 different languages.
As I am about to finish with the first language I have started looking for a solution in order to incorporate the other two.

For the moment I am reviewing “Polylang” plugin which seems to be a choice.
However, by using this plugin for translating the text of each post & page will it be necessary to upload content such as images again?

Maybe a silly question but would be good to have some comments from someone that used this plugin before.
