• I have a book blog and books are available in various formats. (I know that’s stating the obvious, but it’s important.) Some books are also available as film adapations, which may be Blu-Ray as well as DVD. I have been informed by Amazon that I am only eligible for fees if a customer buys the version that my link takes them to. So if I have a link to the paperback version and they buy the Kindle version, for instance, I get nothing.

Is there an easy way to do a link to several formats, or do I have to have individual links to every format for every product?

    Hi,

I have to say I’m pretty sure this is not the case, and is one of the reasons the affiliate program works so well. Quiet often someone will click on an affiliate link buy your inexpensive item then also buy a whole basket full other items and you will get the commission for all the items.

Where it fails is if you link to amazon.com and the user then jumps to amazon.co.uk and buys from there.

However you have probably noticed that all the different formats have completely different ASIN values, so there is no easy way to generate multiple links with just the ASIN.

It may be possible to do a ‘AlternateVersion’ lookup on the ASIN to get a list of other formats…

    Paul
