Multiple Post Types in shortcode

I am trying to randomly display posts and pages that share the same category. I’m using another plugin to add categories to pages. So far I’ve been able to use the shortcode to display a post or a page with the correct category by declaring the post_type but I can’t seem to mix the two together. How would I go about adding two post types in the shortcode?
