We maintain several websites with this plugin installed. For most, this plugin works just fine, but in some cases, we’ll find that dozens of posts were set to draft mode on the same day, and none had an expiration date set. To make things worse, when we reactivated the posts, their original post date was overwritten with today’s date (there was no longer an order to the timestamp – all were posted on the same day. The issue seems to be more prevalent in sites built on the twentyseventeen theme, but we’ve had to disable it on the affected sites. All of our websites use the same plugins, so it doesn’t appear to be a conflict, and it’s not consistent – but very annoying! This is one site we had to disable the plugin: https://www.duanesburg.org/

    Hi @jessegigandetneric

    Thanks for using our plugin.

Can you please check if you have any Action Workflow active?

    Thanks,

There doesn’t appear to be any. This is where I looked for that ( Future > Action Workflows ), but please let me know if there is another place to look

@jessegigandetneric That is the correct place. It seems not related to Action Workflow.

Anyway, how do you conclude the issue was caused by our plugin? Did you deactivate our plugin and the issue goes away?

    Thanks,

Yes, when this issue arises, we deactivate the plugin and it never happens after that. As I mentioned, it’s sporatic, so difficult to pinpoint. Because your plugin is very useful, we have left it active on several of our websites, and only disable it on affected websites when the problem arises.

@jessegigandetneric You are correct. It will be hard to pinpoint the issue without proper troubleshooting.

Our Pro users get the access to our private helpdesk where they could share login to the site and we could check it directly.

Unfortunately, we can’t do that here as per forum guideline.

Ok thank you for your responses. Please let me know if anyone else experiences similar issues, and if you’ve found a solution.

@jessegigandetneric Sure thing. We will let you know if anyone else is experiencing the same.

I ran into this same issue with a client of mine. Posts would turn to draft within a couple of hours of getting published. We just ended up deactivating the plugin and that solved the problem.

What is needed here someone who is able to troubleshoot the issue. It’s apparently an issue on a small handful of sites.

If someone who can see the issue is willing to do a normal troubleshooting routine for a WordPress issue, that would move this forward:

    • Check the error log
    • Check the “Diagnostics and Tools” tab in the Settings area of PublishPress Future
    • Disable other plugins
    • Change the theme
    • etc
