That’s happening because the roles are a tiered system. Contributors can always view content restricted to “contributor” AND “subscriber”.
Authors can see everything for “author”, “contributor”, and “subscriber”.
Editors can see everything for “editor”, “author”, “contributor”, and “subscriber”.
Etc.
Hi Pippin,
So through your plugin or edits to user rIles is there any way to accomplish two different groups of people being able to see just their content with the one not being able to see the other? It’s supposed t be hidden content for one group of subscribers jut for them and then hidden content for the other role just for them. Is that not possible within any version of your plugin or wordpress?
It’s possible with the Pro version of the plugin by using “Access Levels”: https://pippinsplugins.com/products/restrict-content-pro/
Sorry, “Subscription Levels”.
Hi there,
I just bought the pro version of your plugin and am having extreme issues trying to figure this out and it is driving me mad.
Please look at the following page and the two links.:
https://www.capstoneins.com/administrative-center/
I need “user class a” to be able to see School District Payroll Administrators
I need “user class b” to be able to see Business Administrators
I need both users to be able to see the login form I have created on both pages, but nothing below it. I think I have this set up with the [restrict][/restrict] on all the content that is exclusive to user class a, or b on the body below the sign up form.
Users are already signing up via my form, the admin needs to be able to go in and set the role to be able to access the content on one of these pages or the other one.
I need to know:
1. How do I restrict the content on page a for user a, and then restrict content on page b for user b.
2. I need to know how to set up those users in the back end.
The levels thing isnt showing up after I add the level to the user either.
