I have a client who wanted an ad to go to two different URLs. For example, the ad banner has a “Learn More” button. If any part of the banner other than the Learn More button is clicked, the user will be redirected to URL A. If the Learn More Button is clicked, the user will be redirected to URL B.

I was able to accomplish this using a map tag and setting up coordinates. However, since my website shows images responsively, the coordinates I specified won’t be accurate unless the image is shown at 100% resolution. I’ve done my research and there is no way to make the coordinates dynamic. Is there any other way around this? Thank you.

    Hi iantiu,

    Thanks for asking this question.

Is there any other way around this? Thank you.

You would need to create such an element externally. Advanced Ads only inject your code. I would first try to build something in that way using the block editor and copying this code into Advanced Ads. Depending on the layout, it might be possible to define different target URLs by combining several blocks.

If you can create such a workaround, the more challenging part is tracking the performance of both links. If you come into this situation, I recommend using the link tracking placeholder and creating a second ad unit in Advanced Ads to generate a second tracking link that you could include in such a block-combining ad.

I hope this can help you.

    Best regards,

    Joachim
