Are these reports you are receiving just the usual security report or are these reports showing any issues?
Let’s visit your email preferences in the options to check a few settings.
Go to All Options > Activity Reports – Make sure Enable Email Summary is checked and set to Once a Day. By default, it should be set to Once a Week.
Something else I have seen resolve this sort of issue is to uncheck all email preferences and Email Summary and then save the options. Then recheck the options that you want and see if this resolves the issue. Sometimes this resets the email preferences if you are having issues.

Thanks. It was just telling me there was a plugin or two available. Right after I wrote the post, it sent about 20 more reports in rapid succession. A day later, it only sent one, without my changing anything. So I updated and it has sent no more.
The default is still set at once a week, but this and all my other sites get an update report every day till I update, and I’ve never changed the schedule.
