• Dear all,

I am very new to WP I just started to create my blog and I want to do it in 2 languages. I decided to go for the option of the subdirectory mydomain.com/fr as the content will be similar but translate.
I did create the network and the subdirectory, nstalled WP in the subdirectory etc, but when I tried from the superadmin panel to enable / activate themes and plugins, it says it works but when I go onto the subdirectory dashboard, it is not the same theme and I can’t find the plugins. So I don’t understand what is wrong. My .htaccess and wp_config look as they should look, but I can’t find why I can’t apply themes and plugins to my new subdirectory.
    Could you help please?
    Thanks a lot!

In multisite, there are two ways to activate plugins — you can network activate them for the whole network, and when you do, they will not be visible at all in the subsites plugin page. Or, you can leave them network DEactivated, and then activate them on a per site, subsite basis.

Some plugins are designed to be only network activated, or only subsite activated. Do some research on them.

Themes have to be network activated to be visible or available for any of the subsites.
