Multisite local install with MAMP

Hello all

I am having a few problems with the following and would be grateful for some help. I am using MAMP and WP version 3.6

I have managed to set up a local multisite install of WP to work on my site offline but haven’t been able to login to the admin panel of any of the additional sites I have created. I get the following error message.

The page isn’t redirecting properly
Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept
cookies.

I have deleted all cookies, tried it in Chrome too. 🙁

A note to the kind who reply to my message. I get a bit lost with overly technical language, clear instructions are much appreciated!
