So, this is very very weird.

We noticed that after updating to 3.8, two sites within our large multisite install started displaying mdocs-modal HTML in the DOM, but only on the Home Pages.

I rolled mdocs back to 3.7.4.1 and this issue goes away.

Can you investigate?

Can you confirm that you are only seeing this modal output on a 404 page. My testing has come to that conclusion, I just need data from your end to see if I’m on the right track.

Yes, I upgraded Memphis Docs on our staging server and went to a non-existing URL and am getting the same errors when a 404 is thrown.

okay i’ve found the issue and should have a fix soon.

Still hoping for a fix to this soon. Rolling back actually broke our Document Upload process. It’s failing silently. We’ve been adding files via the FTP Upload process in the meantime.
