  • You are trying to install a multisite in a subdirectory on a Windows-based server…

And, to add to that, there is a login procedure for the Azure instance in charge of that server.

I think you may need to hire someone to help sort this out. Really!

And/Or, I think you may actually want to get this to run as if it was running in webroot via this instructional document first off.

    https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/article/giving-wordpress-its-own-directory/

Careful! There may be an index or applications in that subdirectory that need to run so they can’t share that space with WordPress’s Index.PHP file. That’s one place that may stop you right there. I don’t recommend modifying that Index.PHP to drive the other APPs or index files either. I’ve done that and it is very messy!

Multisite isn’t easy! Multisite on Windows is a bit different also but is ‘do-able’. Multisite in subdirectories gets a bit more confusing… and multisite behind another app really pushes things.

So first get the single WordPress to run from the outside world, updated, and those plugins updated (for sure). Make sure Pretty Permalinks work!!!!

Then, try to upgrade to multisite! Don’t forget to disable those plugins while making the changes to multisite!
