multisite saml login?

Greetings — I would like to know if any multisite network admins are successfully authenticating user logins via SAML. Our IT strongly recommends it, but their vendor, PingIdentity, recommends a SAML plugin (SAML 2.0 SSO) that is not frequently updated and does not readily work in a multisite environment.

In a broader sense, I’m wondering whether any of you have thoughts on SAML as a preferred multisite authentication protocol: if indeed there are few up to date, multisite compatible WordPress SAML login plugins, this could indicate that few consider it an important priority.
