Multisite with Subdirectories
-
Hi,
I just converted a website to Multisite using Subdomains and then changed it over to Subdirectories. This is an existing site and typically not recommended. However, I don’t have any conflicts so it shouldn’t be a problem. This article from ww.wp.xz.cn says you can convert the site using Subdomain and then change it afterword to Subdirectories as long as there are no conflicts. I did this.
https://codex.ww.wp.xz.cn/Multisite_Network_Administration#Switching_network_typesI’m getting the error that others have mentioned in their tickets. Namely, …
You run a Multisite installation with subdomains, but your site doesn’t have a wildcard certificate. This leads to issues when activating SSL networkwide since subdomains will be forced over SSL as well while they don’t have a valid certificate. Activate SSL per site or install a wildcard certificate to fix this.
I can’t turn off the message.
But, the bigger problem is that when I go to:
http://runwalkevents.org/My URL is not referred to
https://runwalkevents.org/Any help on this would be appreciated. Is there something I can do to troubleshoot it?
I am using Version 3.1.5 of the plugin and Version 5.1.1 of WordPress.
Thank you.
