Multisites – 50 total, how much memory/cache/etc

    I have a very large multisite (around 50 sites total). This will get a lot of traffic. It will have image galleries, blogs, calendars, etc. How much memory should be alocated to this site and would you recommend using wp super cache and widget cache? if not, what would you recommend for the best results?

    Definitly use something to cache. Super Cache or W3 Total Cache. I find CPU usually gets hit before memory, but it depends.

    How much is a lot of traffic?

    number of sites matters a whole lot less than total traffic.

    Tell ya what – start with 512megs of RAM. That’ll handle a million hits a month.
