My background and menu are missing

    Hello,

    My problem is: after trying to rearrange the header and menu in the Twenty Twelve Appearance Editor (header.php), my background and menu disappeared completely. I had a copy of the original header.php code, and replaced it when I saw the tweak didn’t turn out how I wanted it to, but it didn’t go back. I copied and pasted the header.php from my other site as well, but nothing changed. Any advice on where I went wrong and how to restore my background and menu is much appreciated.

    The markup for the site starts with <div id="primary" class="site-content">. There is no opening <html>, <head>, <body>.

    What I would do is temporary activate TwentyELEVEN, then upload a new fresh copy of Twentytwelve, then switch back.

    To prevent this from happening again, only make changes via child theme only.
