This is not a “cheater” plugin as some reviewers would have you believe and I would urge people to ignore all the current misinformation being spread by a certain other developer whose intentions are dubious at best.

I use this plugin on several sites and have done so with great success for a good while now. I initially started using it purely to clean up the WP database but now use it as my main caching and optimization plugin.

Significantly, at no time has it ever occurred to me to cheat my own customers by misusing an optional, built-in feature of WP Optimize, namely to exclude certain JS files from being loaded by GTMetrix et al. My view is that, if a site developer is that way inclined, they will find a way to deceive their customers with or without this feature. Plugin developers can’t be blamed for that.

In any case, I really do not believe that this bit of code exists for that purpose. Granted, its actual intended use is not clear, and I have never used it, but I have always assumed it was for testing purposes.

All that being said, this is a great plugin that continues to serve me well and I have no intention of changing. I only wish that the lazy load feature was included in the free version – but beggars can’t be choosers.
