My Own Embedded Posts Stopped Working

    Within the last 2 weeks (I am unsure of exactly when this happened), the [embed] tag that I use to link to my own posts has stopped working.

    I have searched online countless articles trying to solve this on my own but nearly all the support topics have involved problems with Youtube or Twitter or some other service.

    I am having problems with embeds back to my own site. This has been working great for the past couple of years and only recently stopped working. The embeds show correctly within the WordPress editor, but when I publish the article, they show as a simple hyperlink within quotes.

    Although this is happening site wide, here is an example page where this occurs, you’ll need to scroll to nearly the bottom in the “Related Posts You Might Enjoy” section. There are three embeds there that show what it’s looking like.

    I’ve tried it with and without the [embed] tags and it makes no difference.

    My site is hosted by Bluehost, and I’ve been running it for over 5 years so I’d like to think I know what I’m doing. I’ve tried viewing my site on multiple workstations, in multiple browsers and it’s the same everywhere.

    I had recently updated some settings in a WordPress Caching program that I had been using, which I have since turned off and completely disabled, and it has made no differece.

    Does anyone have any suggestions for me to try?

    Updating my post from yesterday. I can confirm that embeds to other services like Youtube and Soundcloud are working fine on my site.

    Wordpress embeds to other sites though do not work. So the issue is clearly with WordPress to WordPress embeds.

    Hopefully this helps someone help me pinpoint the problem.

    I was really hoping someone would have some suggestions here. If this isn’t a good place to ask this sort of question, can someone please direct me to somewhere that I could?
