One of my users tried to log into my wordpress blog, and found that her password no longer worked, so she used the lost password function and changed her password. The new one did not work either. She told me, so I tried to log in and couldn’t. After the lost password function didn’t work for me either, I looked up the issue on these forums and found the nice article on Resetting Your WordPress Password.

I tried every option in that article. I used the FTP functions.php fix, I tried the emergency.php script, and I tried the MyPhpAdmin fix. None of them worked.

Every time I log in, I get a message saying that I typed in the wrong password for the user. There seems to be no way to get wordpress to recognize the new passwords, even though it is reflected in the SQL Database wp_users.

I am using very simple passwords, so there is no possibility that I’m mistyping them, and I’ve tried each fix multiple times, checking the directions, so I’m pretty sure I did it right.

I should add that the emergency.php script did not send an e-mail. The e-mail account associated with the admin user is the correct one, verified by actually checking the SQL database, but perhaps this is where the problem in using the emergency.php fix lies?
