mysite.com keeps forwarding – help

Im a bit of a novice with no PHP knowledge and recently made a mistake that I thought I corrected.

I was trying to make my ‘recent’ posts show up in /home but found the correct place to put this later. I also experimented with redirects.

Under the control panel in Settings > Permalinks I made a custom structure /home. When ever I went to the mysite.com page it would send me to mysite.com/home. Which was not what I wanted. As I developed the site I settled on a /archives/%post_id% structure and changed the setting accordingly.

Long story short… when ever I go to mysite.com it takes me to mysite/home. My redirects are fixed, and all the settings look alright. But it still goes to /home. Any ideas on where this gremlin could be?
