    Hi,

Wordfence Diagnostics shows “FAIL” for all MySQL privileges. I’ve been running Wordfence for about two years on this website and suspect that this is a new error – I only discovered it because Wordfence has not been able to update the rules for some time.

How can I set the correct privileges? Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Regard,

    Gerhard

    Thanks for reaching out.

The issue you’re mentioning about the updating of the rules is something we hope to have a fix for soon. In most cases, we are seeing the rules are in fact updating. To check on that, you can check the timestamp on the wp-content/wflogs/rules.php file. After you check, go ahead and try to Manually Refresh those rules in Wordfence > Firewall > All Firewall Options > Rules, with the Manually Refresh button there. You may get an error still, but check the rules.php file again to see if the timestamp was updated. Note that the malware signatures are also separately download by the scanner so this should not affect scanning.

You will have to reach out to your hosting provider and ask them to make sure the database user for your website has all permissions with regard to the MySQL privileges.

After you make those changes, send me over the diagnostics if you would like so I can take a look for you. Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics > Send Report by Email to [email protected] and please put your forum username in that second field there.

If you could kindly let me know when you send those, I will take a look.

    Thanks,
    Scott
