Nav menu issue

Matthew
I have an issue with Easing slider. The web site is:
paxchristi.org
on the front page I have Easing slider inserted with a short code. For the drop down menu any selections that fall below the bottom edge of the easing slider the menu disappears before you can select them. This is not a problem on pages that do not have the slider.
About 9 months ago there was a similar issue
http://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/twenty-twelve-sub-menu-conflict-with-slider-plug-in
you recommended adding a code snipped to the sytle.css file. I tried that and it didn’t fix the problem. Any thoughts?

Hi @ck2_nd, sounds like the theme may be missing some CSS that allows the nav menus to drop down over other elements on the page.
Could you link me to the page in question? I’ll take a quick look.
Matt,
Here is the link. I had written it in put not actually linked it.
I am using 2012 as a theme. The issue is that it works fine over the slider but when it gets to the bottom if the slider it dies. something is odd.
thanks
Chris
My bad, sorry, I missed the link in the original post!
I’ve had a look, but the drop downs look fine to me. If they are showing over the slideshow, is this not correct? Have you tried clearing your browser cache?
Would it be possible to let me know which browser you’re using, and possibly provide a screenshot to see if I am seeing the same thing as you?
Matt,
The menu’s look fine the issue comes on trying to click on them.
I checked using chrome and IE. I have firefox and safari at home but didn’t check on them, I can check tonight.
Interestingly enough i notice the problem on chrome on a Mac, it is not showing up on chrome on windows, it is showing up on IE on windows.
for instance if you go to faith formation and hover to get the drop down menu and try to move down to parish bible studies (or any item below that) the menu goes away as you hit “seven deadly sins” which seems to correspond to the active bottom part of the slider. I checked and if you go over the left slider arrow when the menu is dropped down it also kills the menu.
I know that one solution is to move the nav bar above the header image so that the menu does not go down that far to conflict. I thought that it was in interesting problem.
Thanks for the help and sorry for my lack of specificity.
Chris
Matt,
I checked on the home machine.
works:
Windows – Chrome
Mac- Safari
Mac-FirefoxDoes not work:
Windows – IE
Mac – ChromeI don’t have firefox on the work machine so I didn’t test it.
I may just have to go to plan b.
Chris
Hi @ck2_nd, I’m not experiencing this issue at all – the menus are working perfectly, not disappearing after “Seven Deadly Sins” as you’ve mentioned. I’ve tested in Chrome, Firefox, Safari on my Mac, and IE9 on my Windows machine, and it’s all working perfectly.
Are you sure you’re not seeing a cached version of the site on the browsers that aren’t working? Are you running any caching plugins?
The browsers were working, I did just clear the Cached on Chrome on Mac and it seems to be working now.
Very curious. Sorry for the confusion. and thanks for the help
Chris
Sounds like a caching issue, don’t worry about it 🙂 Glad it’s all working now. Remember to clear your cache in future when making changes – can cause major headaches! 🙂
