I am a little confused on whether or not I can do this with your plugin of if it is appropriate, but I am looking to redirect a handful of OLD http:// URLs to new https:// URLs.

    Example :

    From (Old URL): http://www.ourwebsite.org/events

    To (New URL): https://ourwebsite.org/activities-and-events/

I have held off on doing anything until I am certain this is possible.

    Thanks in advance!

The answer is ‘maybe, it depends’. There’s a lot of details needed, and you may find some of the answers here:

    Wow that was fast!

After reading the info in the link you provided, It does seem like it could get complicated. Maybe this is not worth the trouble for a handful of links?

So just because one URL has http:// and www. and the other has https:// and no www. these are considered different domains?

Unfortunately the original website was not built in WordPress so we can’t install Redirection on the old domain.

FYI – Not sure if this matters, but we only moved to a new host provider, while the domain name is still with the original registrar.

Thanks for the prompt reply and info!

www and no www can be different domains. I don’t know how your site and domain is setup so I can’t say how complicated it will be.

It seems to me like you probably want both domains (www and no www) serving the same URLs, with a redirect from www to no www. You can then have extra redirects for specific pages if the path has changed for whatever reason.

http to https should be automatically redirected anyway
