What is the actual problem right now? Does the site not show up at all? Or does the site show up but you can’t get the theme to show on the site?
Did you upload the entire .ZIP file of the theme in the wp-content/themes/ folder? Or did you unzip it first and upload all the individual files to the themes folder?
my website is wwww.maisieeverett.com
I just dragged and dropped the theme folder (it wasn’t a zipped folder) into wp-content/themes before I uploaded it to the cPanel, then I zipped the wordpress folder (as it doesn’t allow me to uploaded it it unzipped) then unzipped it in the cPanel..although it doesn’t seem to unzip..
so here’s my domain folder right now…
http://s2.postimg.org/5huwuvvbd/Capture.png
(don’t know what all that other stuff is, it just came with creating my domain name but anyway)
so when I select the folder and click “extract” it does a quick thing then this comes up http://s8.postimg.org/um67mmg91/Capture2.png but it doesnt actually extract into the maisieeverett.com folder… :/
However all the contents are in there.
I think my problem is trying to somehow “link” wordpress.com with this all, I just don’t know how.
I read that you have to “export” then “import” content out of your wordpress.com blog, but
a) I don’t know where to import it
b) There’s actually no content on my blog at all, I created it a few days ago intented not for a “blog” but for a portfolio.
If it helps, my wordpress blog is eve0007.wordpress.com and my website is maisieeverett.com
Thankyou
Looks like on http://maisieeverett.com the Halfcreative theme is already active….?
I think you may be mixing up WordPress.COM and a self-hosted WordPress site.
http://eve0007.wordpress.com is a site on WordPress.COM (hosted by WordPress).
http://maisieeverett.com is a self-hosted site.
If you want to install a theme on http://eve0007.wordpress.com, you’ll have to do it through the site’s WP admin (which you access at http://eve0007.wordpress.com/wp-admin ).
If you want to install the theme on http://maisieeverett.com , you can use the admin as well by going to Appearance -> Themes -> Add New -> Upload and then upload the theme .zip file
But, like I said, it looks like you have the Halfcreative theme running on http://maisieeverett.com already so perhaps you got it figured out already.
I got it up and running yesterday but just didn’t get round to posting it on this forum!!
Thanks for your help 🙂
I am new to this and I did something in the css that has messed up some fonts, bullets and a tab. I really need help b/c this is something I’m doing for a friend. PLEASE!!
