Hello all! I’m trying to validate a wordpress site with the Astra theme using the w3 validator and unfortunately I encountered a few errors that have completely stuck me. I’m quite inexperienced with wordpress so please I ask for your sympathy. The first error says:

    Error: CSS: background-color: Parse Error.

    At line 35, column 73250

    ackground-color:;;background-i

I can’t find a way to change the submenu background colour. Also something that bothers me is that actually I don’t have any sub menus, only main menu, I don’t know what is going on… Please any help will be really appreciated!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

I tried adding also the following custom CSS line of code:

    ast-builder-menu-mobile .main-navigation .main-header-menu, .ast-builder-menu-mobile .main-navigation .main-header-menu .sub-menu{background-color:#999;background-image:none;;}

    Still nothing changed.

    Hi @theblackplanet1,

I see that the page is created using Elementor. So, please try to temporarily switch the theme to a default Twenty theme series and then do another validation test. If you get the same result, that means it is not related to the Astra theme and might be related to Elementor.

As for the submenu, I believe this article can help you.

    I hope it will help.

    Kind regards,
    Herman 🙂

    Hi Herman!
I changed to Twenty Twenty Two Theme, the parser error was gone, the 4 “Element style not allowed as child of element div in this context” errors were still there and there awere a couple more errors. So I guess the “Element style…” errors might have to do with Elementor and may be the parser error has to do with the Astra Theme?

[edit: the “Element style…” errors were indeed caused by Elementor, I found the solution to the problem in the Elementor subforum:

Good to know that, @theblackplanet1. And thank you for sharing the link to the solution.

    Hello Herman!

Unfortunately the problem is not resolved yet because the Parse error remains. It may has to do with Astra theme because it was gone when I changed the theme. Do you have any clue my friend what it may cause this?

    Hi @theblackplanet1

    Thank you for your reply.

Have you followed the below solution?

Go to Elementor > Settings > Experiments

Under “Ongoing Experiments” disable(set it to inactive) “Improved CSS Loading”

Feel free to reach back and report your findings.

    Regards

    Hello Humayon!
Thank you for your answer my friend. Yes I did actually and this eliminated the 4 “Element style…” errors but the CSS: background-color: Parse Error still remains so I guess that it might have to do with the Astra theme.
