Need info on jquery.js

    Hi all,

    I did a page speed test on my site using google page speed insights and found out few things:

    1. I’m using google font css, so, it said you should optimize css delivery for this.

    2. Need to know difference b/w Jquery.js and Jquery-min.js (I’m using wordpress jquery only)

    Plus, anybody can give inputs for some good practices. I’ve removed the third party jquery by reading some posts, due to which it dec. the loading time of site.

    Sorry, it was jquery-migrate.min.js.

    Hi jQuery migrate is a jQuery plugin to handle backward compatibilty issues with WordPress plugins / theme using an old version of jQuery :

    This plugin can be used to detect and restore APIs or features that have been deprecated in jQuery and removed as of version 1.9.     @nikeo: Actually, i’ve installed kiwi logo carousel plugin, due to which, the loading time of site inc. and it was loading an external jquery. After removing the plugin, loading time decreased.

    So, here jquery migrate will not help. I mean why the loading time inc., didn’t get the background scene what was happening there.

    HI @oxygen89, each time a web page has to get an external ressource, it increases the loading time.
    However, since browsers cache the css and javascript it is better for performance standpoint to make those ressources external than to embed them directly in your webpage.

    To minimze the number of http requests to get all external ressources, the best solution is then to compile them into compressed files (one for CSS and one for js). There are good plugins to handle this : Total Cache and Super Cache are your friends.
