Need to Change Active/Inactive Shape
-
How do I change the Active/Inactive Shapes? Documentation does not cover this.

Hi there,
Can you explain what you mean by it doesnt cover it, it is in the first section on the below page:
https://responsive.menu/docs/basic-setup/sub-menus/
You can put any shape you want in there, it’s completely to your freedom 🙂
Peter
I’m using the FREE version and not the pro version.
I already went to the ‘font documentation’ pages and do not see any font code/shape info. on how to replace the default Active/Inactive shapes in the plugin.
Hi there,
The Free and Pro versions are the same for that option.
I also don’t know what the Font Documentation has to do with your request, this is to do with Shapes not Font Icons.
Have you tried replacing what is in the Active and Inactive Shape options? I’m not sure where the confusion is here, you just need to replace what is in those options with something else…
If you want the shape to be a ◈ symbol, then put a ◈ symbol, if you want a ◍, then put an ◍ etc…
Please can you advise on what it is you are confused about here exactly?
Peter
#1: The confusion is that I’m trying to use a chevron shape, but I cannot simply copy/paste the shape itself whether I’m using a word processor to insert it into a document and paste it into the plugin because of a lack of character recognition. I’ve already tried this.
#2: I’ve already tried the Active/Inactive Image, but the change of image hovering does not work the way I want to: the chevron image ‘disappears’ when hovered when I want it to be a contrasting color.
Therefore, is there a workaround without having to purchase the PRO version for just this feature?
Hi there,
I just did a quick Google for html shapes and there are quite a few sites you can copy and paste from, a selection are below:
https://www.w3schools.com/charsets/ref_utf_geometric.asp
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geometric_Shapes
https://responsive.menu/html-geometric-shapes/
If you want to use images instead are you uploading an active image and inactive image which have the contrasting colours you desire, as you can’t have one without the other?
Peter
Thank you, Peter, for your efforts. I do appreciate your prompt responses.
Unfortunately, I was not able to find the matching chevron characters that I need based upon your links. I was only able to find one, and using CSS to change the rotation of the element is not worth the time investment. I suppose I’ll have to consider using a different character.
Thank you for trying!
Hey there,
Not a problem, it’s what I’m here for 🙂
Changing rotation of something in CSS shouldn’t be much of a time investment, it will only be one line of CSS.
Html shapes are limited I’ll admit which is why I also provided an image option and Font Icon in the Pro version.
Hope you find something that works for you.
Peter
