I am looking for a way to add date, author, etc. to my posts. I don’t know of a script that does this. Can someone help with suggestions on how to accomplish this?

This is controlled by your theme. Have you tried switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems? As you are using a commercial theme, you need to seek support from the theme’s vendors.
