• Hello, I don’t want to be “that guy” but, every time I come here for support, I never get a response. Any idea how I can contact a customer rep or ANYONE who can answer some questions about some problems I’m having with my website?

For what it’s worth, I’ll repost my biggest problem in hopes someone can help:

I’m having background margin problems. On my laptop and PC, I have a nice blue background, about a two inch margin from the side of the screen, so the white page (my content) is centered, but not crossing the entire screen. On other various laptops and browsers, there’s barely any blue margin at all, making my content spread across the entire screen.

I want to make sure everyone sees the website the same way with the nice blue two inch margin on both sides. You should be able to see my “follow me” widget on the left too.

Is this a setting I can fix on my end, if so, how?

    Thanks!

  • looks ok on google chrome.

unfortunately not all browsers will display pages the same way. which browsers are you having problems with?

I think your site looks great. I just tried it in FF4 and IE9, and it looks perfect. (1680×1050) Your content remains centered, your background expands, and your social icons stick to the left margin like they should. On my laptop at 1280X800, the margins are naturally reduced, but it all looks fine.

What you are experiencing seems to be the normal characteristics of simply viewing your site at different resolutions or view port sizes. The width of the wrapper for your content is 990px, so it’s never going to display at anything less than that. Looking at your site layout, I would say that viewing it on anything with a screen resolution below ~1100px wide is going to start giving you problems. Your social icons will drop out of site – because they need ~48px of space to display – and of course at 990px, your content will start to become obscured. It all seems like pretty normal behavior to me. Great theme, nice display. I think it looks pretty darn good.

Wow, thanks so much for the help guys!

Yeah I tried three other laptops and computers today and they were all different. Most had less than an inch margin and the social icons were gone. It made the page look huge and overwhelming aesthetically. I like the two inch margin on each side and a more compact look. Sounds like I don’t have a choice here though. Oh well, thanks for the kind words and help!

    You’re welcome!
