New blocks not functioning properly

I haven’t created a new post in a couple of months. When I created a new post today, I got tips on using a “new” block editor. I had been using block editors before, but I assume it has been changed. When I create a paragraph block and start typing, it doesn’t return to create new lines, it puts the next line of type over the first line. Also, the “+” button to create new blocks sits over the current one. It is doing this on Chrome, Safari, and Firefox. I have WordPress 5.51 installed, and I reinstalled after this problem showed up, but that didn’t help.
