I’m totally new to this so the plugin description just confuses me.

I have WP network with two sites. Main domain is installed in root, while other site is installed as folder. For example:

http://mycompanysite.com – my main company site, while Internet shop (Woocommerce) is installed in shop folder so the link to it looks like that: http://mycompanysite.com/shop/

There are no actual folders for each site and all sites are in singular root WP installation.

I also have a singular WP site (not network) on a different server with completely different domain.

    My idea was:
To create new site on WP network and build it in similar way as the singular site on other server. Then I would transfer the domain to a server with a WP network and then map it to this new site so I would have in a single multi WP installation:

    1. http://mycompanysite.com
    2. http://mycompanysite.com/shop/
    3. http://www.othersite.com

    Is it possible to do?

I know I can transfer domain from one server to another but can I map it to an existing WP subfolder network?

    Thanks!

while other site is installed as folder.

Your second site is virtual but appears as though it’s installed in a folder.

but can I map it to an existing WP subfolder network?

Your sub-site to your main network is not a subfolder network. A subfolder network refers to WP files being installed at something like http://domain.com/somefolder/. Your files are installed in the root so you are fine with DM.

Yes, all sites are in one installation in root, there is no actual folders, just some sites appear as if they were (like you said: virtual).

If I read you correctly, the answer is yes, I can do what I presented above, because WP is in root so DM will work in my case?
