New Fields in Post Type

Hey guys,

I am looking for a reason to the answer to my question.

My site was configured to not accept player birthdays.
Display Birthday was checked Off here :
/wp-admin/admin.php?page=sportspress&tab=players

I created several players.

Then I go back to the player settings, and check Display Birthday to On :
/wp-admin/admin.php?page=sportspress&tab=players

Once this is toggle to On, I can only access this field if I Add a New Player.
If I Edit and existing player, then the Birthday field is not available.

The work-around is to update the existing player, then the Birthday field is available.
I’m assuming the meta_key needs to be written to the database before it can accept a value. But I’m just confirming this.

Actually ……… sometimes this work-around works, and sometimes this work-around does not work. 🙁
