    Nothing to do with the htaccess as you haven’t even got it running in order to set the permalinks to something other than the default … which is what initially creates the htaccess file.

    – did you buy the domain from HostGator for this add on domain?
    — if not, you will have to change the nameservers of that domain at the place where you bought it to the nameservers of your HostGator account.
    — you probably added the add-on domain and pointed it to the appropriate folder in your hosting account, but the domain itself, if not registered at HG via you account, doesn’t “know” where that is 🙂 Just adding it to an add-on domain in cPanel does not do it 🙂 … that’s why the DNS change is required where you bought the domain. Be advised, that if this is the case, once you make the change, it can take up to 48 hours to become effective.
