    Hello,

I am new to WordPress and am trying to determine if the problem I am encountering is because I’m missing something, or because there is a problem with my install.

I have assembled a few basic pages and categories with a couple of posts using the 2012 theme. These have been arranged into a menu using the menu builder found under “Appearance”. When previewing the site, submenus are appearing as they should with mouseovers, however I am getting 404 errors when trying to navigate to any of selections.

I have refreshed the page, re-saved the menu, deleted and rebuilt the menu, switched to the 2011 theme and back, and deactivated plugins to no avail.

I am only running three plugins, Backup to Dropbox, Jetpack, and Contact Form 7. One other minor issue I’ve encounter, which may be a clue to a messed up install, is that when I try to connect Jetpack with WordPress.com to get it functioning, it returns an error IXR -32300: site inaccessible. I initially believed that this was due to my setting the visibility of the site to “Discourage search engines from indexing this site”. Now I’m not sure.

Is there something I need to do to get the menu to work? Should I be getting an error with Jetpack?

Feel free to take a look http://www.wmokrynski.com/wp1

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

    Solved.

It was a permalinks setting that got changed in a tutorial I was following.
Have now set it to “Post Name” from custom.

    Hope I didn’t waste anyone’s time.
