I have gone over to the wordpress 2022 theme.
I totally cannot find my way about!
I click on customise, and get a page with odd blocks, most of which have an error message.
My original theme was Magazine Basic which I have used for some time. Had to upgrade as it is not supported and not functioning well.
I had a menu in a sidebar. My first, principal issue with the new interface is I can find no reference to widgets, or sidebars, so the site just has none of this functionality.
My biggest puzzle is I can find no way to go back to the customising interface I am a bit familiar with. That way I could switch between interfaces and hopefully find my way about.

I posted about this on the general forum but I am posting here on the suggestion of a Forum Moderator & Support Team Rep

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @triplemaya, I definitely understand that Twenty Twenty-Two can take some getting used to. To start, let me share some info and resources that might be helpful:

Twenty Twenty-Two is the new default theme that was launched alongside WordPress Version 5.9 in January 2022. As the first-ever default block theme, Twenty Twenty-Two invites you to explore full site editing and create a site that reflects your individual vision. This is a new approach to site building than what most are used to with WordPress so to help you get started, here are a few resources to explore:

Learn about the Twenty Twenty-Two Theme and the various full site editing features it unlocks.

Learn about Block Themes and how they allow you to edit all parts of your site with blocks.

Take a course on Learn WordPress about how to build a site with full site editing and the Twenty Twenty-Two Theme

You won’t find widgets or the Customizer in this theme, but you should find equivalent ways of adding content and customizations via blocks and what are called Global Styles. Feel free to explore the above resources and let me know if you have any other questions!
