Hi,
Do you write about free or Pro version of User Role Editor?
Free version does not support ‘create_pages’ user capability. The same ‘edit_pages’ is used by WordPress by default in both cases: edit or add new page.
Thanks for clarifying. That is a shame. There was no mention that I could see that that tickbox was for paid version only.
Free version does not add ‘create_pages’ user capability, does not support it at all. So what mention should be for this checkbox from a free version?
I don’t know how it was added at list of user capabilities at this site. May be Pro version was installed there earlier, but was deleted. May be it was added by some other plugin. May be it was added manually in a hope that this feature could be managed by just adding a new capability.
I don’t know how it got there as this plugin wasn’t added with anything else. I added it in myself. I haven’t made any purchase on the plugin at this stage. I haven’t manually added the entry. it was already showing there. I just filtered by “pages” and saw the Create pages rule. Hope this helps.
Does it a fresh installed site? I meant that if you started support this site after someone else or imported database from other site, this capability could exists at this stage already.
I’m sure that free version of URE does not add ‘create_pages’ capability automatically. Pro version does this, but after you activate the correspondent option at plugin settings page.
I have started supporting the site from somebody else so maybe they installed and then removed this plugin yes. That’s the only thing I think it could be.
