Yes, for security reasons I set my sites up so that you have to manually update theme/plugins via FTP/SFTP. Plus I like to examine the files to see what’s changed sometimes.

Yeah, my set-up is manual upload via sftp only as well – the security implications of automatic updates (particularly in terms of the permissions required for web directories) make me very uncomfortable indeed.

I used Camtasia Studio v8. Pretty simple stuff really… it’ll not do the same pro job as the Adobe suite, but it’ll get you most of the way there 🙂
On the topic of updates and SFTP etc., on iControlWP you can put in your site (S)FTP details into the control panel and it’ll use those details automatically when upgrading plugins… in that way you don’t need to store you FTP details in you wp-config. Just by-the-way…

Correct… it uses the WordPress in-built option of specifying FTP details to update plugins.
You can do this by putting the details directly into your wp-config.php.
