Can you give me a step-by-step instruction which triggers this issue so I can reproduce this error?
Actually, the only place the ‘new post’ dashicon shows is on the page where the new posts are. On all other pages the only dashicon which appears is the ‘no new posts’ dashicon, unless I’m missing something. I just now created a new post and new reply as me, logged out, logged back in as another person and still no ‘new post’ dashicon on the main forum page, either along the left side or at the bottom of the page.

The “problem” is, that I use two different color-styles for the read/unread-icons. One icon uses the forum-color, the other one the text-color. It seems that forum and text color is almost the same, so you cant see a difference between those two icons.
Maybe you can change the forum color to a brown for example and can tell me after it, if the icons are looking different now.
If you want to use the same colors for both, we have to modify the colors for those two icons via an own CSS rule.

No, the new post-icon only use a different color to indicate that there are new posts. Maybe I should change it to a different icon so it will be easier to recognize and to avoid color-problems in the future.
I think a different icon would be better since choosing a contrasting color will be difficult for some sites. Thanks for your help and a great forum.
