Hello @freshuk !
Thanks for your kind words 🙂
No, you can remove NR agent as long as DecaLog is sending logs to NR.
Regarding metrics and logs, it’s up to you!
Metrics can help to measure / detect / anticipate issues or dysfunctions.
Traces can help to detect “time based” issues.
Thank you !
the NR agent also traces browser js issues for me, and some infrastructure metrics.
if i keep them both, will the data be combined? or can it cause any issues?
btw do you have a premium paid version of the plugin?
There’s no problem to use both (and you’re right, DecaLog don’t track infra log/metrics, nor browsing issues) because they don’t use the same transfer layer. If you keep them both, data will be combined, yes!
Regarding premium version, there’s none – not even in my plans at the moment. The only reward for me is WordPress directory reviews and stars 😉
Btw, DecaLog is part of a free plugins suite you can discover here (if you haven’t already): https://perfops.one/
PS: to track browsing issues (like js errors), I’m currently working on a specific plugin for that…
thank you for the info! i was just exploring perfops.one actually, installing the traffic plugin (wonder if it can give me extra details that new relic can’t).
wonderful news about the js errors issue!
I never saw such well built free wordpress plugins actually !
Do you have a donation link ? and of course a review is on the way
BTW
in the wordpress DecaLog Events Viewer (and traces), there is no box to search anything.. so i have 1k pages with data. am i missing something?
Hello !
You’re right, you can not “search” for events and traces in the integrated viewers – that’s why DecaLog offers the ability to “forward” logs to SaaS platforms that have good UIs. These internal viewers allows you to only filter for now.
Nevertheless, I’m working on it, but it will not be before 3.5 version 😉
PS: no donation link (for now). Maybe one day…
