• Any chance you could add repetition patterns that would allow the following?

    1. “Third Monday in February” (Presidents’ Day), “First Monday in September” – Labor Day, or “Fourth Thursday in November” – (Thanksgiving)
    2. “Last Monday in May” – (Memorial Day)
    3. “First Sunday after the first full moon occurring on or after the spring equinox (set as March 21) – (Easter)
    4. “Friday before Easter” (Good Friday)
    5. January 20 every 4 years (Inauguration Day)

I’ve been asked for this before, but I don’t honestly see it as very pressing. You can add out 20 years of any given holiday just by creating an event and adding 19 copies of it. While that’s some effort, these complex recurring pattern are really a pain to calculate, and I question the value.

I completely understand your reluctance to take on the job, and would probably have the same attitude if I had no use for it myself. However, there are some of us out here who need it. If you have any inclination to try to add it, I can now provide a couple of GW-BASIC programs that will calculate the dates I need. One of them calculates the date for the nth occurrence [First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth (if there is one), or Last] of any weekday in any month of whatever year you specify. The other will give you the dates of Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday), Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Pentecost for any year you specify. I also have a third program that will determine the date of the start of Hanukkah in any given year. Even though I have those now, I still would like to see their function added to My Calendar.
