• USING 2.9.2 Hostgator Hosting

I am new to WordPress and have practically no experience writing or adding code to a website. I want to add a one but almost every free template offered people are complaining the something isnt working or it screwed up their Site.

I dont have the expertise to troubleshoot BS like this and frankly dont want to put up with the frustration. Im scared to add a theme at this point. Are there any free themes( or paid) that just do what they are supposed to…. And are Noob friendly as far as configuration.

I am looking for something like a magazine/newsfeed/review Theme with an optin feature. SEO friendly and works on every platform. My Host is HOSTGATOR. For example…I liked a newsfeed theme called Feed-me Seymour but it has some restriction with having to host it from your own system. I also liked eDegree and Intrepidity but people having some issues there as well…not a lot but some.

Im not sure. WordPress IS only a blog in reality. Maybe trying to turn it into a Hotrod website is the problem. Anyway, If someone has any recommendations on a good looking RELIABLE theme I would appreciate the feedback.

  • Most free and paid-for theme are just fine – if they’re used properly. But theme developers can only do so much to try and prevent the damage can caused by by owners who edit theme files, use bad markup or try to copy in text from Word.

how does Word insertion of text into a post mess things up in a theme? please help as this might be my problem. i need a break from researching and coding.

The pasted text will also contain Word’s own formatting. Sooner or later, this formatting will stop your pages from being displayed correctly (if at all) in Internet Explorer.
