    Hi guys!

This plugin is driving me nuts. I am asking a lot for a free plugin, I know that, but at this point I am ready to chuck Mailpoet and start over somewhere else. I have:

    1. domain setup
    2. mailpoet free starter plan confirmed
    3. no errors in my everything log
    4. Setup 3 “latest notifications” emails for daily sending at 15:00, 15:15 and 15:30.
    5. mails schedule, process and send without issues
    6. first mail in my inbox
    7. No follow up email scheduled, planed or sent. My mails send once and stop.

What am I to do? Why are my options.

Hi @prokops, are those three emails for different posts? E.g.,

    • 15:00 is for category A, including posts 1 and 2
    • 15:15 is for category B, including posts 3 and 4
    • 15:30 is for category C, including posts 5 and 6

Or are they all set up the same way? Because if it’s the latter, the first email would send the latest posts, and the other two would check, that those posts were already sent by the 15:00 email and there is nothing new to send (unless you publish something new between 15:00 and 15:15).

    Hi Jan

So,if there are no new posts, it wont send?

What I am really looking for is a mail that sends every day at a fixed time, regardless of new posts.

Is it possible to either send the mail with latest 5 posts even if they were sent in last mail, or to create a mail that send periodically without the latest notification block.

    Is either option possible?

    Cheers

That’s correct. The Post Notification email is meant to inform about new posts on your website. You can read about them in more details in our Knowledge Base.

This is not something you can do with MailPoet. In practice, you’d end up sending the same email multiple times, which would very likely end up being marked as spam by your subscribers, or even automatically by email providers (Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook…).

Hi Jan, thanks for the answers.

What I want is a monthly email where I include my custom shortcode with my specially layoutted calendar events with filtering logic etc. I think this will not count as spam. If this is only possible with the built in “last post” widget, then I can test it by creating new posts as far as I understand now.

Is there a snippet to allow for sending the schduled last post email without a last post check?

    Hi there @prokops,

There’s no snippet to force a Post Notification email to run even if there are no new posts. As Ján mentioned, this is because empty emails will likely lead to spam reports, so we do not allow this for your own protection.

I’m afraid the only paths forward here are:

    • to use your shortcode to create a blog post with your event information monthly, which would trigger the post notification
    • to manually send out a monthly newsletter with your event information pulled in

You could also possibly consider an automation that has a custom trigger. This requires a paid MailPoet plan and also a skilled developer to create a custom trigger for you that is time-based (or based on some kind of new event information being added). We would recommend reaching out to an experienced developer to see what the options are in that case.
