Hello dear Masteriyo, As a masteriyo lms user, Im so happy to see Masteriyo is becoming more beautiful and modern quickly day by day both the lms and the website of Masteriyo.

Since there is no video tutorial available yet, i like to know how to use some of the new updates and to understand their concepts. So if it’s possible to guide me with answers or screenshots or screenrecorsing, I’d be thankful.

    1. Could you please show me how to activate this feature and use it and how it looks like? Feature – Added ‘View as Student’ option for admins and instructors to preview the student experience.Feature
    2. I don’t understand this: – Exposed full CRUD abilities for Course, Section, Lesson, Quiz, Question, Enrollment, Order, User, and Settings via the WP Abilities API.Enhancement
    3. How do these work: any screen recording to understand with a test example :– Added email settings and notifications for lesson comments/replies and Q&A.
    4. I love it, how to activate and configure it? – Added ‘Auto Redirect to Courses’ option in WooCommerce integration settings.Enhancement
    5. I don’t understand this: how is it: – Improved UX for chat input fields by replacing text input with textarea and enhancing message formatting
    6. Does it mean asking for password to download pdf?.Security – Added authorization check for Invoice PDF access.
    7. Samir gave me css codes in past and they are in the addictional css, what this feature will do to them? Fix – Enqueued public.css on course bundle and public profile pages.
    8. I don’t understand this: – Added masteriyo-notice-link class to admin notice links.
    9. Where is it and how to use it? Fix – Fixed review replies not appearing in user details edit review. [PRO]Fix
    10. The Gradebook feature needs a good video tutorial because we don’t know how to use it: – Scoped gradebook queries to current user and guarded against bulk deletion.
    11. I love it, so it means now we can use Masteriyo lms on Servers and hosts which have server lscache on them and webserver is litespeed? If yes, does it need any configuration in Masteriyo? Fix – Resolved stale cache served after AJAX login on account page with LiteSpeed Cache.

    Hi @derlehre,

Thank you so much for your kind words — it truly means a lot to the entire team! We are glad to hear you are staying so closely engaged with our updates. Let us walk you through each of your questions based on verified information from our changelog and documentation.

    1. View as Student
This feature is available directly inside the Course Editor. Once you open any course from the backend, you will find the “Demo Student Preview” button at the top of the editor page, located near the Preview button. Clicking it allows you to see exactly what a student experiences when accessing that course, without needing a separate student account.
    2. CRUD via WP Abilities API
This is a developer-focused feature that allows developers to create, read, update, and delete Masteriyo data such as courses, lessons, quizzes, enrollments, orders, and users through the WordPress REST API. If you are not a developer, this will not affect your day-to-day use. It simply opens the door for custom integrations and third-party tools to connect with Masteriyo more seamlessly.
    3. Email Notifications for Lesson Comments and Q&A
You can manage these from Masteriyo > Settings > Emails. You will find new notification options for when a student posts a comment on a lesson or asks a question in the Q&A section. You can control who receives these notifications, whether that is the admin, instructor, or student, and customize the email content directly from there.
    4. Auto Redirect to Courses after WooCommerce Purchase
As confirmed in our previous response, you can enable this from Masteriyo > Settings > Integrations > WooCommerce. Once enabled, students will be automatically redirected to their enrolled course as soon as their WooCommerce order is marked as complete.
    5. Improved Chat Input Fields
This is a small but helpful improvement to the user experience. The message input box in the Q&A and lesson comment areas has been updated from a single-line text box to a larger textarea, making it easier for students and instructors to type longer messages comfortably. There is nothing to configure — you will simply notice the improved input area when using those sections.
    6. Authorization Check for Invoice PDF
This is a background security improvement that ensures only the rightful owner of an invoice can download it. For example, a student can only access their own invoice PDF and not someone else’s. No configuration is needed — it works automatically to keep your platform secure.
    7. Public.css and Your Existing Custom CSS
Your existing custom CSS is completely safe. This fix simply ensures that Masteriyo’s own stylesheet now loads correctly on the Course Bundle and Public Profile pages, where it was previously missing. You may notice those pages looking slightly more consistent as a result. Your custom code in Additional CSS remains completely untouched.
    8. masteriyo-notice-link Class
This is a behind-the-scenes technical improvement for developers. It adds a consistent CSS class to links inside WordPress admin notices generated by Masteriyo, making them easier to style or target. As a regular user, no action is required on your end.
    9. Review Replies in User Details — PRO
This fix ensures that when an admin or instructor replies to a student’s review, the reply now correctly appears inside the student’s detail page on the backend. You can verify this by going to Masteriyo > Students, opening a student’s profile, and viewing their review history. Since this is a PRO feature, please reach out to us via live chat at https://masteriyo.com/ for hands-on assistance.
    10. Gradebook
This fix ensures that each user’s gradebook data is properly scoped to their own account and that bulk deletion is handled more safely to prevent accidental data loss. We completely agree that the Gradebook deserves a full video walkthrough and appreciate you highlighting this. We will pass your feedback along to the team. In the meantime, please feel free to ask us any specific questions and we will be happy to guide you step by step.

    Best regards!

Thanks for your help dear @shresthauzwal

Amazing progress. Bravo Masteriyo team. Now the Lms has almost everything except a few features that are considered core features and other lms plugins already have them. I’m mentioning them below.

These are really necessary to be in Masteriyo Lms since communication and ease of it is No1 in the concept if online teaching: direct Messages between student and the teacher is not available in Masteriyo. It should be available and needs to have a dedicated tab in the account page. Same thing for lesson comments and q&a in the student account page(profile). for example when a student asks a question in the comment section of a lesson, the teacher should be able to answer that easily from masteiyo dashboard or a tab in Masteriyo dashboard and for the Direct Messages too(the student see the Teacher’s answer in his account page.

Q&A of the courses is not specific enough because it’s for the whole course. Each course can have many lessons. When a student asks a question, the teacher will face some difficulty to answer that, since it’s not clear that this question of the student is for which lesson specifically so that the teacher answer according to that lesson.

Emails Settings and Templates: They should be updated as well in Masteriyo since the other lms plugins have a very easy and full beautiful customizable email settings.

Password eye icon. All lms websites and plugins already have the eye icon so that the user see and make sure about the password he writes. Masteriyo doesn’t have it yet. It’s very important for ux.

social media userbases in account page: As a teacher, i wanna add those students who are enrolled in my course to the telegram channel that i created for that course so that they download lessons to use them offline since offline mide is not available in Masteriyo. To do that, i need the student’s username on Social media and the best way to have that and verify that it is really for that student, there should be a field or some fields for the students to add his social media userbase in Masteriyo account page like the address field etc.

Files by link: online course websites usually have many students and this uses many resources of the Server(vps) or Dedicated Server. Course featured video, Pdf lessons, course attachments and almost any other file in Masteriyo must have both self-host and also by link to use a separate download host and make the main website less heavy.

Customizable text size in Learn page: The classic editor of wordpress is not strong enough and doesn’t have the feature to make the text size bigger or smaller. The Guternberg editor is still not having an option to set the font sizeand line spacing as default. So having a button to learn page for the student can help him make the text bigger and easier to see. Same thing for the teacher.

Audio and Video lessons and text interactive: This feature was in Masterstudy lms and i really liked it. Undeer the video and audio lessons we can put text and timestamps and the student by clicking on the text will hear that part of the video or audio lesson.

Buy now or start course button: it’s possible to hide the course button in the courses page and single course page but It’s still not possible to do it in homepage in Masteriyo and its themes.

Course Layouts: Most of the lms plugins have more than 6 course layouts for the courses in homepage, course page and single course page. Masteriyo needs and update for that.

Dynamic account menu: Almost all the lms plugins even in their old themes have this beautiful feature of Dynamic account icon in the header of the website which shows the student profile image and by clicking on it, a small menu will be opened and has the dashboard, q&a, messages and logout button. I like Masteriyo to add that.

Layouts for account page: 90% of the lms plugins have 3 Layouts for the account page: minimal, modern etc.

Registration and login page: Like other plugins, Masteriyo needs to have a beautiful modern minimalist registration and login page in which there is rectangular banner above the registration and login page.

Blog page: The blog page in Masteriyo themes is very very basic and this is making it look outdated comparing to other lms themes. A small update for that can make a big change in ui and ux.

Mobile responsive: I checked the famous lms plugins, they were easy to manage lms and create courses and quizzes by them in mobile and also this was making the process of management and course creation so much faster than Computer and laptop because phones are lighter, quicker and more handy and have alsmot everything.

Video tutorials: Im this regard, not only Masteriyo but also other lms plugins do not have new videos about the core updated feature as well as the new features. Their Youtube channels will create videos at least every month but it’s been more than 5 months that masteriyo’s Youtube channel didn’t post any tutorial for the core updated and new features.

I know that these should be in the request feature in Masteriyo website, but as i mentioned these features have been core features in other lms plugins for more than 2 years. That’s why i wrote them here.

I Love Masteriyo to be Newer and stronger than other plugins.

    Best regards.

Email notification is awesome but It would be great if the answered comment by teacher be shown to the student as notification in his account page and learn page too sk that the student be informed by notifications too and not only by emails because some do not check emails.
