Hey,
Thanks for your report! May I ask if your user role is not administrator? e.g. editor?
I suspect where the error might be but I need to narrow down the search.
Thanks!

I’m admin and the only user (site is under development). Let me know if I can help in any way – I really love the plugin!
I think so too.
When i visit setting, i got warning “sorry you are not allowed to visit this page”
I turn around with all another setting, they are fine. Just your plugin issue
Thanks!
I’m looking into this, I will release a hotfix as soon as It’s fixed.
Thanks for your patience and info!
Lukas
Are you guys by any chance using any plugin that have anything to do with capabilities? I’m releasing now an update that will potentially fix your issues but I’m not 100% sure as I cannot replicate your issue. Could you please let me know if the problem persists after updating to 2.4.1?
Thanks!

I’m using Ultimate Member along with the Groups plug-in by itthinx. I’ll test the new version and let you know ASAP!
I see! Thanks for the info and looking into this for me.
It might be that the plugins does not recognise the custom capability that has been added in 2.4.
So instead of delete_plugins capability in order to see the settings page, it has been changed to ljmm_control. This capability is automatically added to administrator although plugins modifying capabilities and user groups might be breaking this.
It might worth trying to add ljmm_control capability to administrator if that’s possible through those plugins.
I’m thinking of a workaround how to make sure this doesn’t happen again in the future or to anyone else.. I suspect that it happens only if you have it already installed capabilities plugin and maintenance mode, but if you do a fresh install, it works just fine.

I think you’re probably right… and unfortunately, the hot fix didn’t fix the problem. I’ll see if I can add the ljmm_control capability to the plugin admin somehow.
Right, I might have come up with a solution, 2.4.2 will be released shortly, please try to update and see if that works. Would be great if you could let me know the results!
Thanks!

Hey I fixed it! I had to go to the Groups plugin and create that ljmm_control capability, then create a new group with the newly-created ljmm_control capability, then give that capability to the Ultimate Member profile for my Admin (under User settings). Here’s the steps:
1. Create capability in Groups
2. Create new Group that includes this capability
3. Assign that Group to the Admin in Users (which I think is part of Ultimate Member, or at least overridden by UM)
All seems good now.

Awesome! Happy you managed to get this working, I’ve implemented the workaround which will hopefully fix issue for anyone else.
Thanks Joe, I’ll mark this as resolved then.
